🌱 Our Founders' Story

Built by two students with a simple idea.

TheWebYard started with Kovidh and Gia, two high school students who wanted to turn their interest in technology and business into something real.

We noticed that many small businesses have great products and services, but don't always have a professional website. Either because websites can be expensive, complicated, or simply feel out of reach.

So we decided to change that.

We created TheWebYard to help small businesses get online with modern, professional and affordable websites, without the complicated process or unnecessary costs.

We're still students, but that doesn't mean we're not serious about what we build. Every website is an opportunity for us to learn, improve and help another business grow.

TheWebYard is more than just a website business. It's something we built from the ground up, while still in school, with the goal of helping other businesses build their place online.

Most small business sites are done within a week or two, depending on the size and how quickly you get your content to us.

Yes. We register and set up your domain as part of the build. Domains renew every year and that renewal cost is billed separately to you — it depends on the domain type (e.g. .co.za, .com).

Yes. We do full redesigns to bring an older site up to date and get it running faster.

Small fixes are free for the first 30 days. After that you can pay per change, or join a maintenance plan that includes updates.

Yes. We cover the basics: proper page titles, meta descriptions, and help getting your site indexed on Google.

When you submit the quote form or contact us directly, we collect your name, business name, email, phone number, and whatever you tell us about your project. We don't use tracking cookies or analytics scripts on this site.

We use your details to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, build and manage your website, and — for maintenance clients — to renew your domain and keep you updated. We don't sell or share your information with third parties, other than service providers (like a domain registrar or host) where needed to deliver your site.

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email thewebyard.studio@gmail.com and we'll action it.
